We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Maria Lizardo to Senior Vice President!
With an impressive 47-year career in Management, Project Management, Procurement, Planning/Scheduling, Cost Control, and Contracting, Maria brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. Her extensive background includes supporting multi-billion-dollar projects in the oil and petrochemical industries and providing invaluable consulting services such as Independent Project Reviews, Gate Reviews, PDRI Assessments, and more.
Before joining Pathfinder, Maria served as General Director of XPECTRA Remote Management, overseeing subsidiaries in Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. She also managed the installation of a factory in China, showcasing her global project management skills.
Maria's 27-year tenure at Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) saw her rise to the Presidency of Bariven, S.A., where she centralized project engineering, procurement, and construction for exploration, production, gas, and refining activities.
Maria has been an invaluable member of the Pathfinder team for 17 years, consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership, dedication, and expertise. Her innovative approach and commitment to excellence have significantly contributed to our success.
Her faithfulness to education and training is evident from her early career teaching oil refining at Simon Bolivar University to facilitating Project Management and contracting courses at Pathfinder. Maria has also played a pivotal role in developing and rolling out client Project Management Processes and Manuals.
Recently, Maria led significant project management efforts, including PDRI MATRS assessments for a multi-billion-dollar project in Belgium and large-scale assessments in Indonesia. Her hands-on support in contracting assignments and development of project execution plans has been instrumental in the success of numerous projects.
Maria holds an MS in Business Engineering with a Major in Finance and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Simon Bolivar University. She has also completed executive development programs at IMD, Harvard University, and Wharton School of Business.
