Although the overall capital project environment has slowed a bit, there are still numerous project/portfolio management activities throughout the Pharmaceutical industry. Charting a course through the myriad of regulatory, economic, regional and project issues requires an advanced project management capability. Planning, executing and controlling these type of projects require astute management skills and leadership capabilities. The challenge has become the draw from the extensive activity in the other process related industry sectors has an equally negative impact on project execution in the less active industries. This does not mean that project cannot be managed successfully; they just need a more defined and better executed project delivery approach.
